I don't think necessity is the mother of invention. Invention, in my opinion, arises directly from idleness, possibly also from laziness - to save oneself trouble. ↗
It is idleness that creates impossibilities; and where people don't care to do anything, they shelter themselves under a permission that it cannot be done. ↗
The dandy turns idleness into an art form. The couch potato, into a snack form. But the supreme idler is the couch dandy: his art is superficial flavoring. ↗
Hotel
My room's shaped like a cage the sun
Put his arm right through the window
But I who wish to smoke and dream
Use it to light my cigarette
I don't want to work I want to smoke ↗
