The difficulty of writing a good theatre play set in new reality was even greater given that the level of similitude to life that is allowed in a film would not work on the stage. ↗
Normally as a director, you do look at other films and things that are relevant. But with this film, it became impossible because I became so aware of the camera placement. ↗
It became a metaphor for the lives of the people in this film and for the Old West, for the abandonment that occurred in the early part of the 20th century. ↗
