A certain administration which I won't call by name took the arts out of the schools, and that left the brothers out on the street with nothing, so they went to the turntables and started rhyming. Then they had a way to express themselves, and that's the birth of hip-hop.

Charitable work
The Isaac Hayes Foundation was founded in 1999 by Hayes. His new album 1975's Chocolate Chip saw Hayes embrace the disco sound with the title track and lead single. South Park

During the late 1990s Hayes gained new popularity as the voice of Chef on the Comedy Central animated television series South Park.

He also won two Grammy Awards for that same year. Later he was given his third Grammy for his music album Black Moses. He is well known for his musical score for the film Shaft (1971).
