I don't see women and think of them as competition or with judgment. Women really move me. I feel connected to all kinds of women. I am angry because I think we've been mistreated throughout history in different countries, including America. I admire women.

Was a member of the 2005 Cannes Film Festival jury. Hayek along with actor Joe Anderson sing together a cover of The Beatles song "Happiness Is A Warm Gun" on "Across the Universe" motion picture soundtrack.

She began her career in Mexico starring in the telenovela Teresa and went on to star in the film El Callejón de los Milagros (Miracle Alley) for which Salma Hayek was nominated for an Ariel Award. Her breakthrough role was in the 2002 film Frida as Frida Kahlo which Salma Hayek received an Academy Award BAFTA Award Screen Actors Guild Award and Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Actress.
