My goal is to make Italian food clean and accessible and beautiful and tasty, with simple ingredients that people can find at a local grocery store, because people don't want to go to a gourmet shop in search of items that will sit in their pantry for years after they use just a teaspoon or pinch of them.

She felt very uncomfortable in front of the camera when Giada De Laurentiis first began hosting Everyday Italian but has since become more relaxed and open on air. The program examines the catering process behind big event extravaganzas such as the Grammy Awards. As a child Giada often found herself in the family's kitchen and spent a great deal of time at her grandfather's restaurant DDL Foodshow.

She is a three-time winner of the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lifestyle Host and in 2012 was inducted into the Culinary Hall of Fame. She also appears regularly as a contributor and guest co-host on NBC's Today. De Laurentiis is the founder of the catering business GDL Foods.
