My dad bought a Beatles tape when I was in fifth grade, and that was the first time I ever really - I mean I was into music, but that was the first time it really blew my mind. When I heard the 'Red Compilation,' which wasn't like a proper album, I thought, 'music was more than I had ever thought it was before.'

Life and career
Dost began his musical career as a member of the band Anathallo which was formed in 2000 at Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant Michigan with Dost joining in 2003. 's second album Some Nights saw the band score their first #1 hit single "We Are Young" which Dost co-wrote with Ruess Antonoff and Jeff Bhasker. He also created an original score for the beginning of the Carry On music video in 2012.

Andrew Dost (born April 10 1983) is a member of the American band Fun. He plays several instruments for the band.
