[...] We have to realize that this wound [of loneliness] is inherent in the human condition and that what we have to do is walk with it instead of fleeing from it. We cannot accept it until we discover that we are loved by God just as we are, and that the Holy Spirit in a mysterious way is living at the centre of the wound.

There are high Schools named after him in Whitehorse Yukon; London Ontario; Scarborough Ontario; Collingwood Ontario; Richmond Hill Ontario; Welland Ontario and a to be constructed school in Milton Ontario. He also travels widely visiting other L'Arche communities encouraging projects for new communities and giving lectures and retreats. He stepped down from these responsibilities to spend more time counseling encouraging and accompanying people who come to live in L'Arche as assistants to those with disabilities.
