The British are so funny. It's like they can't believe I lived in Hackney. 'You could live in Bondi Beach. Why would you want to live in 'Ackney?' But Hackney's fantastic. I'm serious. There are so many artists there. I loved the markets, the parks, the pubs, the diversity. It was a cultural melting-pot.

You're a freelancer. Along with Glenn Close Rose Byrne appeared in all of the show's fifty-nine episodes. In 2006 Byrne portrayed Gabrielle de Polastron duchesse de Polignac a French aristocrat and friend of Marie Antoinette in Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette with Kirsten Dunst and appeared in The Dead Girl directed by Karen Moncrieff.

In 2000 Rose Byrne played a leading role in the Australian film The Goddess of 1967 which brought her a Venice Film Festival award for Best Actress. Byrne made her screen debut in 1994 with a small role in the film Dallas Doll.
