I swim all the time at night - I've always been a water girl. It's a black-bottom pool and my pool light was out, and as I've done a thousand times I just kind of did a little seal dive. I saw a huge bright light and I literally thought, 'That's it.'

For her role in the 2001 film Shallow Hal the Farrelly brothers wrote a specific part for Burns after discovering in her audition Brooke Burns was the "prettiest dorky girl" they'd ever met. Early life
Burns was born in Dallas Texas the daughter of Brad and Betsy Burns. At age 16 Burns and her family moved to Europe where Brooke Burns later lived in Paris Milan and Munich.

She began her career on the popular TV series Baywatch and Baywatch Hawaii.
