All in all, the League of Nations is not inevitably bound, as some maintain from time to time, to degenerate into an impotent appendage of first one, then another of the competing great powers.

There is a square in Copenhagen named Hjalmar Brantings Plads. In Copenhagen a street is named after him. Hjalmar Branting accepted Eduard Bernstein's revision of Marxism and became a reformist socialist advocating a peaceful transition from capitalism towards socialism.
