None of these devices address that women keep track of many people's lives, not just their own.

Systers membership was limited to women with highly technical training and discussions were strictly confined to technical issues. In 2003 the Institute for Women and Technology was renamed to the Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology in honor of Borg. Also in 2002 Borg received a Honorary Doctor of Science and Technology degree from Carnegie Mellon University
Borg was also a member of the board of directors of the Computing Research Association and served as a member of the National Research Council's Committee on Women in Science and Engineering.

She grew up in Palatine Illinois; Kaneohe Hawaii; and Mukilteo Washington. She was born Anita Borg Naffz in Chicago Illinois.
