Flower was a good metaphor for growth. The song is obviously about sexual responsibility, so that was the main metaphor. Also, it's like knowing who someone has been and remembering and appreciating that, but really appreciating what they are now even more.

The album also contained the song "Ecstasy" produced by David Morales which became an underground hit and later appeared on her Greatest Hits collection. Documented by Ebony magazine in 1977 as a part of "The New Generation" Jody Watley was one of the most popular on the show and recognized as a trendsetter for her style and dance moves. release and left Watley in legal limbo for two years.
