I love telling stories. I love the intimacy between the writer and reader. When you write sketches it's over in two minutes. When you write a book the characters have to have a bit of emotional depth.

Walliams does a track-by-track interview with Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe on the new Pet Shop Boys album Elysium. In 2003 he appeared in EastEnders and Marple. In September 2012 Walliams released his fifth novel for children Ratburger.

He is best known for his partnership with Matt Lucas on the sketch show Little Britain and its predecessor Rock Profile. He is a judge on Britain's Got Talent and he compèred the 2012 Royal Variety Performance.
