The reality is that the workforce relative to the number of people retired has shrunk and today in America there are only 3.3 working Americans paying payroll taxes to support each individual currently retired and collecting Social Security taxes.

In 2006 he cosponsored H. Citizens Against Government Waste considered him a "Taxpayer Hero". He served in the Arizona Air National Guard from 1969 to 1975 and was a lawyer before becoming a special counsel to the Arizona state House Republican caucus 1991–92.
