About 20 years after Nixon's resignation Schorr attended a dinner where Nixon spoke about the Soviet Union. He also appeared as himself in the docufiction film World War Three: The Movie that considered an alternative ending to the USA/USSR Cold War. He also wrote a column for the Christian Science Monitor for several decades.

Schorr won three Emmy Awards for his television journalism. He was most recently a Senior News Analyst for National Public Radio (NPR).
