The films that I've done before were original stories most of the time, I did two adaptations before this, but they were mostly original stories where I had complete freedom to evolve in the direction I wanted.

In 2008 Salles wrote and directed the film Linha de Passe also with Daniela Thomas. He is the son of Elizinha Goncalves and Walter Moreira Salles a Brazilian banker and ambassador and the brother of João Moreira Salles also a filmmaker. In 2006 Salles wrote and directed a segment in the French film Paris je t'aime (French for "Paris I love you") with Daniela Thomas.
