The difficulty we have in accepting responsibility for our behavior lies in the desire to avoid the pain of the consequences of that behavior.

By doing so we enhance the joy of pleasure. In refusing to suffer the pain of sacrifice we fail to truly grow. These are techniques of suffering means by which we experience the pain of problems in such a way as to work through them and solve them successfully learning and growing in the process.
