The mini-Moog was conceived originally as a session musician's axe, something a guy could carry to the studio, do a gig and walk out.

In 1999 Moog partnered with Bomb Factory to co-develop the first digital effects based on Moog technology in the form of plugins for Pro Tools software. Moog received a Grammy Trustees Award for lifetime achievement in 1970. Moog's first wife was Shirleigh Moog (née Leigh) a grammar school teacher whom he married in 1958.
