Previously in 1952 Addison's friend Irving Berlin wrote a musical called Palm Beach which never got produced. He was the brother and sometime partner of businessman raconteur and playwright Wilson Mizner. (1850–1932).

Mizner was the visionary behind the development of Boca Raton Florida. In the 1920s Mizner was the best-known and most-discussed living American architect.
