Though everything else may appear shallow and repulsive, even the smallest task in music is so absorbing, and carries us so far away from town, country, earth, and all worldly things, that it is truly a blessed gift of God.

Sarah Levy was a talented keyboard player in her own right often playing with Zelter's orchestra at the Sing-Akademie zu Berlin of which Felix Mendelssohn and the Mendelssohn family were leading patrons. (He later also wrote incidental music for the play including the famous Wedding March in 1842).
