I graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles, with an English literature degree and travelled for a year before going to work.

Personal life
Massenet was born in Los Angeles in May 1965 the daughter of Bob Rooney (an American journalist) and Barbara Jones (a model for Chanel). In 1997 Natalie Massenet met her husband Arnaud Massenet (an investment banker) at the Notting Hill Carnival. She remains as Net-a-Porter's executive chairman and it is understood that Natalie Massenet will reinvest £15m back into the business alongside Richemont.
