I spend a lot of time at my son's school and I really wanted to do a movie that the kids could see. The good thing about being my age and not having to be the ingenue anymore is that I get to be a mom. I get to have kids in my movies.

The film is a documentary about the lives of older women. Madsen appeared in a small but key role in the Francis Ford Coppola drama The Rainmaker (1997) starring Matt Damon. Madsen had spent more than twenty years in minor films before her breakout critically acclaimed performance in Sideways (2004).
