On Halloween 2007 Linklater appeared in an episode of Pushing Daisies on ABC entitled "Girth". That was followed by his role as CNN correspondent Richard Roth in the HBO movie Live from Baghdad.

He is the son of dramatic vocal trainer Kristin Linklater. He is best known as Matthew in the CBS sitcom The New Adventures of Old Christine.
