One of the most special things about the city of New Orleans is how diverse a people we really are. There's been a new generation of individuals that have all grown up together, so I don't really see myself as a White mayor. I've never seen New Orleans as a Black city.

Landrieu has also taught alternative dispute resolution as an adjunct professor at Loyola University Law School. He was elected Mayor of New Orleans on February 6 2010 garnering 66 per cent of the city-wide vote and claiming victory in 365 of the city's 366 voting precincts.
