You know the circus performer who spins the plates in the air you know, and he'll spin six or seven plates in the air? Acting sometimes is kind of that guy spinning all those plates in the air but in your head and in your body.

Soon after graduating he went to rehab for drug and alcohol addiction and has since remained sober. They met while working on the 1999 play In Arabia We'd All Be Kings which Hoffman directed. He is the son of Marilyn L.

He joined the LAByrinth Theater Company in 1995 and has directed and performed in numerous stage productions. He received another three Academy Award nominations for his supporting work in Charlie Wilson's War (2007) Doubt (2008) and The Master (2012).
