Fassbender was at the Top Gear studios in Surrey England on 8 February 2012 to film Star in a Reasonably Priced Car where celebs try to set a fastest lap time of the Top Gear test track in a low-spec family hatchback. According to Fassbender's "family lore" his mother is the great-great-niece of Michael Collins an Irish leader during the War of Independence.
