Film and television

Although Stafford appeared on screen many times throughout her career her television work was restricted by a combination of poor eyesight that meant Jo Stafford was unable to read the cue cards without her glasses and the bright studio lights that caused her discomfort.

In the 1990s Jo Stafford began re-releasing some of her material through Corinthian Records a label founded by her husband. She also performed duets with Gordon MacRae and Frankie Laine. Bandleader Tommy Dorsey hired them in 1939 to perform backup vocals for his orchestra.
