S. After the war he was assigned to Camp Meade Maryland and reverted to his permanent rank of captain on 30 June 1920 though he was promoted to major again the next day. armor doctrine staging a high-profile mass exercise driving 1000 tanks and vehicles from Columbus Georgia to Panama City Florida and back in December 1940 and again with his entire division of 1300 vehicles the next month.

He led the relief of beleaguered U. S. He died following an automobile accident in Europe on 21 December 1945.
