Afterward turning his attention to the drama he at first collaborated with Arthur Bourchier in producing The Chili Widow (1896) then wrote in rapid succession The Cave of Illusion (1900) Arethusa (1903) A Marriage Has Been Arranged (1904) and finally made a great success with The Walls of Jericho produced at the Garrick Theatre London on October 21 1904. Sutro married Esther Stella Isaacs the sister of the 1st Marquess of Reading in 1894.
