Alan Kulwicki

After the final race of the season series champion Dale Earnhardt and race winner Wallace drove a side-by-side Polish victory lap carrying flags for Kulwicki and Allison. Kulwicki's Busch Series successes caught car owner Bill Terry's eye and he offered Kulwicki a chance to race for him in a few Winston Cup events. The USAR Hooters Pro Cup championship the "Four Champions Challenge" is named in memory of the four victims of Kulwicki's plane crash.

He started racing at local short tracks in Wisconsin before moving up to regional stock car touring series. He has been inducted into numerous racing halls of fame and was named one of NASCAR's 50 Greatest Drivers.
