Al Jardine

Book
Jardine has authored one book Sloop John B: A Pirate's Tale illustrated by Jimmy Pickering (Milk & Cookies Press 2005). He first sang lead on "Christmas Day" on the 1964 Beach Boys Christmas Album and followed shortly after with the Number 1 hit "Help Me Rhonda". The book is a children's story about a boy's Caribbean adventure with his grandfather reworded from the original folk lyric of the song "Sloop John B".

Alan Charles "Al" Jardine (born September 3 1942) is a founding member of the American music group The Beach Boys a guitarist composer and occasional lead vocalist. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the group in 1988.
